BizTalk
by Geoff Snowman
BizTalk Server is Microsoft’s message-based integration broker. If you need to wire applications together in your data center, create a service-oriented architecture, exchange EDI messages with trading partners, read RFID tags, or manage business processes, BizTalk Server should be part of your architecture. In this demo, Geoff Snowman will build a simple “Hello, World!” application in BizTalk Server, talk about the BizTalk architecture, and then use Visual Studio to dissect a demo application that uses several BizTalk features. Geoff will also provide some information on the future roadmap for BizTalk Server, including a summary of the announcements from Microsoft’s October 2007 Service-Oriented Architecture Conference.
Geoff Snowman is an integration specialist with Microsoft Corporation. In this role, he works with customers who are deploying service-oriented architecture, web services, integration tools, and mainframe integration. His technical expertise includes BizTalk Server and .NET programming. Geoff has been a computer geek since the time that dinosaurs, or at least card punch machines, roamed the earth. He’s been with Microsoft for six years, in a variety of consulting and evangelism roles. Geoff’s hobbies include supporting the Baltimore Ravens and attending user group meetings.
